Many people have never had the opportunity to meet a Newfoundland live and in person. They are unfamiliar with this working breed and what their contributions to history have been.
Holly The Newf introduces the wonderful and colorful history of the Newfoundland breed, from the coasts of Newfoundland and beyond. This is a family presentation and involves Holly
The Newf's whole family.
These dogs are a working breed and have had
many interesting jobs in the past and continue to work today. One of the most famous Newfoundlands, Seaman, accompanied Lewis and Clark on their expedition. In this presentation,
you'll learn about many famous Newfoundlands and wonderful children's literature that has been written about them. Holly The Newf will tell you her top reading list for stories about
Newfoundlands.
Newfoundlands are known far and wide for their water rescue work and life saving abilities. Holly The Newf will show a video with water rescue footage from the training she did last
summer with her handler and owner, Kim Butler. She will also show video of draft demonstrations with Newfoundlands pulling a variety of carts. Holly The Newf will also tell about her
current work as a therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International (TDI) and the
Tail Waggin' Tutor Program.
This presentation provides an opportunity for participants of all ages and backgrounds to have a meet and greet experience with a large breed dog in a positive setting. If you would
